About me

Bc. Věra Barnová
I first encountered shiatsu in 2015 as a client and from the beginning I was fascinated by the depth and healing power of the technique. Under the guidance of my first teacher, Petr Jansa, I delved deeper into the technique from my position as a practitioner in the Shiatsu for Joy workshops and I decided to pursue shiatsu professionally in 2021. I completed my three-year studies at the Shiatsu School in 2024.
I am fascinated by the functioning of the human body and its connection to the mind and emotions, as well as by exploring the invisible forces that shape our lives. My journey is based on a lifelong passion for sports, from judo to rock climbing to marathon running, which have given me dynamism and discipline. I gradually developed a more subtle approach to working with my own body and perceiving energy through psychotherapy, body therapy, bioenergetic exercises, and the Tibetan meditation system Kum Nye, which I encountered during my self-experiential work with Alice Borská. Kamila Ženatá's therapeutic groups also had a profound influence on me.
After graduating from the School of Shiatsu, I left my manager position at the university and decided to focus on my own therapeutic practice of shiatsu, which fulfills me and is my "professional Ikigai". As a passionate mushroom picker, I am currently also studying medicinal mushrooms and their use in therapeutic practice.
